Cross sectoral arts
The term Cross-Sectoral Arts is used to categorise those cultural organisations and areas of activity whose parameters extend beyond a particular art-form sector, in pursuit of a wider agenda. Frequently geared towards aspects of social inclusion policy – and/or economic development - at both a local and national government level, they form a diverse mixed economy of public, voluntary and private-sector provision, with specific concerns ranging from rural audience development to the ‘mainstreaming’ of disabled artists and audiences.
