The Việt Nam Journalists’ Association is the country’s largest organisation of journalists, representing over 8,300 members from every province of Việt Nam. The VJA strives to ensure that the ever-expanding workforce of the press in Việt Nam is politically, professionally and ethically qualified for the task of propagating and disseminating the information and policies of the Communist Party and State, reflecting the legitimate aspirations of people of different strata and contributing constructively to the preservation of social and political stability. To this end it has produced a Code of Ethics (Quy định về Đạo đức) which all Vietnamese journalists are expected to follow. VJA is affiliated to the International Organisation of Journalists (IOJ) and the Confederation of ASEAN Journalists (CAJ). It publishes the Người làm báo (Newspaper Maker) Journal and organises the annual Ngô Tất Tố Awards.
