Royal Edict 1888 (National Archives)Co-operation with international institutions has generally tended to focus on developmental priorities such as document conservation and care, eg the series of Japanese training workshops on conservation and restoration which have been held since 1998.
The State Records and Archives Department of Việt Nam is a category A member (National Archives) of the International Council of Archives (ICA) and a member of SARBICA, the South East Asia Regional Bureau of ICA. It also enjoys membership of the Association Internationale des Archives Francophones (AIAF) and is active in a range of bilateral co-operation projects involving foreign countries such as Russia, Germany, Singapore, Cambodia and Laos.
