OVERVIEW:
Research institutions of the Việt Nam Academy of Social Sciences
NISSH 2 (Tim Doling)The majority of Việt Nam's research institutions - including several working in the field of culture - are managed by the Việt Nam Academy of Social Sciences, an agency of the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) which is tasked with identifying, organising and conducting short-term and long-term research projects, undertaking joint projects with international institutions, taking part in the planning of development strategies for the national social sciences and humanities, and training researchers in social sciences and humanities at graduate and postgraduate levels. The Việt Nam Academy of Social Sciences manages 17 research institutes, six study centres, the Việt Nam Museum of Ethnology, the Social Sciences Publishing House, the Thông tin Khoa học Xã hội (Social Sciences Information) Magazine and the Xã hội học (Sociology) Review.
